Regno d'Italia 28mm
« on: May 22, 2016, 12:06:26 PM »
Hi everybody!

I'm new here, and also in napoleonics... where I'm collecting an italian force.
I would like to show you what I'm painting. I really hope you like them, because I'm enjoying a lot creating this army, discovering how it was... uniforms, compositions and so.

A battalion from the 3rd regiment, the core of my army

A battalion from the Milano Guard, with the pompieri-guastatori company

Heavy and regimental artillery. The heavy one gunners are oainted as coastal gunners just because I liked their uniforms.

And last, two officers

There are some Warlord (the Infantry Battalion), some Perry (the guastatori, the officers), and some Victrix (the artillery), and also some mixed...

I'm painting a third officer, a dalmatian battalion and a cacciatori squadron... so I hope to show you more of this army soon.

:)

Looking like the grand beginnings of an army. Nice painting.

Great to see someone doing the Italians,  I've been slowly gathering Front Rank French for the same purpose.

Hi!

There's not a popular army. Maybe because it was part of the Grande Armee so not everybody thinks about the italian army as something different.

I have some problems representing the cacciatori, as no one has them with czapka... :(

There are a few units where there aren't an easy substitute. I want them as opponents for the 1812 Russians. I've read that Napoleon tended to underplay the achievements of his allies in favour of his own troops and that the Italians suffered from this many times.

Hi,

Very nice figures and so well painted!

I must follow your example and add some Italians to my army too.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,

Paul

Yes! Victrix. I love them. You get enough pieces to make a whole army... XD
Putting the pieces together could be a little bit annoying. But when you need quality, you have to choose Victrix.
