Thanks Rumacara, unfortunately my Spanish and Portuguese language skills will only get me a coffee, a train ticket and a hotel room.

I cannot tell you where i started and who is right or wrong in is statements but try to start with any page and follow the links where that person got the info.
In time you will get an idea of the best info to filtrate.
Dont Forget that the Iberians where several peoples who left very scarce information and the one available was left by the romans and greeks so many of the information you have to go by logic.

I'd steer well away from the Osprey offering on this one. It jumps to some very odd and rather silly conclusions on flimsy grounds (esp. the ancient Iberians on mailed horses).
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Always good to see some other people getting into Iberians.

I am also looking at getting some Victrix ones for my Skirmish project (You don't happen to have two sprues or so left that one could acquire?).

For a bit of background on Iberians and some ideas how to paint them check out two of my blog posts on
Iberian and Celtiberian Scutati. The miniatures are 15mm, but colour schemes and historical background still stand. The text is referenced, so you can come to your own conclusions / know how I arrived at mine.

There are a number of publications in English by Sanz Quesada. There is also an entire book forthcoming that might be of interest to you.

Well I finally managed to finish my box of Iberian warriors. Two unit of 16 scutati and a small unit of 8 caetrati. I must say I really like the Victrix models and they are easy to paint. Especially when using their shield transfers.

The whole box together

Scutati

Scutati

Caetrati

They will be part of my ongoing summerproject. Every year I paint a new box from Victrix. Starting two years ago with some Greeks, last year with the Carthaginians and this year with the Iberian. With the spanish horse and numidians coming up and rumours of elephants I have the coming summers cut out for me. There are at the moment no serious plans fore where this project is headed. I one point I gues I will have to paint some romans, but thats probably a few years out in the future.

Anyway hope you like the models

Cheers
Erik

Most excellent
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Very nice force. I really like the overall effect they give. Makes me tempted to start another scale.

Nicely done - have had a box in the store cupboard for awhile, encourages me to get on with them.   For Hail Caesar - planning a unit of 24 scutarii and 2 x 8 caetrati.   The 16 man option would allow 2 x 8 man ADLG units, so may think about that as well.

Curious how everyone these days carefully steers away from the white tunics that every historian reports as the overwhelming majority of Iberian dress.

Fantastic!  Love the movement in the units; you wouldn't have thought this possible with multi-part plastics not so long ago - good work Victrix too!
