Nice! Did you ink/drybrush the Ghouls?

I have those Ghouls... somewhere....  ::) - but I think I have another version of the one with the raised hand/claw.... (with a bald head)

Ghouls are clearly classic GW, but is the cultist from Eureka...?

Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I painted them years and years ago - but my usual style is ink and (lots of) drybrushing. Not everyone's taste I know.

And yep the Cultist is Eureka

Or you can get them from Fighting 15s in the UK:

Great figures! I refer to these as well as the rest of your gallery.

The Baboons are Lance and Laser, still available. They seem to be old Bob Murch sculpts according to the L & L website.
"When to keep awake against the camel's swaying or the junk's rocking, you start summoning up your memories one by one, your wolf will have become another wolf, your sister a different sister, your battle other battles, on your return from Euphemia, the city where memory is traded." - Italo Calvino

Really great - semi inteliigent baboons!!!  8)

I think I saw them before, somewhere, but the full 'Pulp' (Tarzan?) potential just hit me...

And next time I promise to read the post headline  lol

EDIT:

Sorry, I'm a bit drunk from Irish Coffee - The last Wednesday to Friday I've been at home because my youngest daughter (2 3/4 ys old) had the flue - and Friday she suddenly slept all afternoon, shaking off the fever - and I've been busy with the girls all Saturday (we went feeding ducks and swans - both my eldest (5 3/4 ys old) and i hand-fed a swan (she's absolutely fearless when it comes to animals, I fear she may end up a new 'crocodile hunter'), so I took this evening off watching 'Eragon'.....

I've painted a lot of LotR minis that way - I even won a round in the last LPL with some Warg Riders painteds like that, so no shame in that.

I think that everyone should paint the way that suits them best - important only that you paint your stuff - I HATE beautiful gaming tables with 'silver armies' on them!!

An army painted to the lowest standards can look really great in sufficient numbers, while a non-painted army ALWAYS looks like crap.

Just my 5 cents....

Hmmm. They are rather spiffing, aren't they?

Anyone have any of these they'd care to part with?  ;)

Yes, you can still buy them from Lance and Laser, but unfortunately, there's no indication of Transatlantic shipping cost...
:(

Next question - anyone have any idea how these baboons (stated to be 30mm to top of the head) scale in with Josef Ochmann's Obelisk baboons? (Under Darkest African Fantasies in the 28mm miniatures section at http://www.obeliskminiatures.com/)

Thanks  :)

I love those guys. They look like they've just been zapped by Arthur C. Clarke's Monolith, and are now about to go and use their new-found knowledge to beat the shit out of the apes that live across the way.

There was a chap selling them on e-bay last year too. The Ochmann baboons are not the same type and are quite small when looking at the lovely ones shown

PS. Captain, you know we may look like these but I am sure there are not baboons in the Scottish borders ;D

They can be found at Gamers Quest (formerly Tabletop Games) in the UK, under the Heroquest/Runequest figure range. Follow the link and scroll down 'til you see them:

Nice painting, but looking at the gouls, I had an idea that would make them look SO much better really easily.

When viewing a model, the human eye is always drawn to the face, especially the eyes. You can get away with VERY basic paintjobs on a model if the eyes look good. Good doesnt mean "having the pupils painted" but its more about contrast.

What Id say then is to add dark "tears" to the gouls faces. Either bleeding eyes or dark green slime running down the cheeks is a really easy effect that makes your models look 100% more convincing! It will add a much needed degree of contrast to these models, and take them from good to excellent!
