15mm FIW for Sharp practice 2
« on: 15 June 2016, 12:51:58 PM »
In a surprise move I decided to start a small FIW project. I had already built a force of French and Indian allies using the wonderful Blue moon figures. But after no sign of any interest at the club I gave them away.
After a quick read of sharp practice 2 I thought I would try again. The guy I gave the French to was keen so have gone for the British.
This time I went for Essex 15mm figures as I just liked the look of them.

I must say it was great service from them. I ordered the figs on Friday. Got an Email telling me that they were posted on Saturday and they arrived Tuesday morning.

No I haven't tried them yet. We failed miserably with the first edition so hoping we do better with these. I have watched the videos etc so hopefully have a reasonable idea..

I painted another two units last time home and just got the bases finished last night.

One of the figures at the back is actually a French figure. For some reason there was a French man in one of the packs. He is now painted a Brit but just looks a bit different.

Nice to see another in FIW in 15 mm.  Curious choice to go with sabot basing in 15 mm; don't see that often (well, I haven't).  I went with 3 abreast for regular linear types and 3 scattered for more irregular types like CdB, Rangers, and natives.

Keep it up and let us know how it all goes - and don't let them go this time.  If the rules you try don't work there are many out there to replace them.

Almost done!
Just have to do some detailing on the Flags and also need to buy some more vegetation.

A close up of one of the command groups including the impossible to paint nicely drummer.

The whole force including an extra mounted command.

I will need him as have already bought and started another force.

Nice!

I have been meaning to pick up a copy of the rules. I will be interested to see how you find them.

I also like the look of Essex Miniatures and their service is great.
