Excellent.

quite like Ebor figures just not sure of the pose on the trooper where they look as though they are hunched forward.
In wargaming as in life - don't accept cheap imitations

Sweet painting on the horse.
Like the way you based them.
Also had a look at your blog, love it.
Will be going back to it, lots more of great things to see.

Nice pieces and painting! Horses poses could be more and better.

Thanks Guys. I do like these figures, The horses are nice, that said there are nicer out there. The figures come together very well, I get the point about the hunched figure, I think it depends on the horse pose to some extent. Lets see if I can make them look a bit better with the next lot.

Roger,

It wasn't a criticism of your work regarding the pose.

I've got hundreds of Ebor WSS cavalry and they suffer from the same thing.  Paul hicks designed them to have an aggressive look but they lean a little too far forward I think.

Thanks Paul, I know what you men, I didn't take it as a criticism but I did have a look at my next batch last night to see if positioning them better on the horse gives a less hunched feel, lets see what it looks like when I get this next lot over the line.

I did wonder about the earlier copmments about the horses being the same, is that in terms of pose or colours? They have 3 poses which is standard for most companies such as Perrys and Warfare for instance, in this case I also added two horses froma  different range so it is 5 different horses out of 9. In terms of colour I went for dark colour on purpose because the heavy cavalry of the period preferred dark colours, the dragoons will have a broader mix of hues.

Thanks for the feedback gents, gratefully received.

I mean that the poses of horses, not very beautiful, are perceived as two, in fact the third is a combination of the other two. Meanwhile, there are, I venture further remark, few sculptors realize that in a charge, which is not film, very few horsemen wielding the sword with his arm raised upwards.

Ah Costanzo I see what you mean.

The placement of the arms is entirely my fault, was just trying out what looked best.

I do like 2 of the horses but not the other so much. Still whilst I think they could be better they are still quite nice I think.

very nice Roger.

I have my troopers with arm raised - after all it looks better and a wargame is only a means of imparting a visual image in the same way that a film tells a story.

Cheers Grim Mariner. Now stuck to bases waiting for the basing department to get around to them. She has just finished basing the Vasterbotten regiment and my second General for the Swedes. Still three Polish cavalry units and one Saxon Guard Battalion along with a couple of Polish Generals in the basing box so may be a while before they are ready.
