Going to war to shoot pictures, not people
« on: 21 June 2016, 08:34:23 PM »
Back in 2012 I painted this (and again in 2013 as I gave away the first one)

....but I suddenly felt the need to paint another press vehicle. With no armour. I was watching "Only the Dead" on Netflix when this SUV drove past:

I liked the scheme, did not want to paint a SUV as all of them are commandeered by my mercenaries, so picked a SandS Lada Riva from my collection. I even cut white decal strips to represent the tape used for the letters.

(missed a spot of gloss varnish on the back, will remidy that)

Well, at least I got yhis one out of my system. Now to clean my hobby desk and take a week off or die trying.

Hehe

Reminds me of all the the white painted news vehicles during the Yugoslavian civil war - The locals called them "Target Vehicles"

Really nice work.   I like that  a lot.

Very nice execution (paint scheme and weathering).
