[Commercial] Khurasan releases 15mm Siamese
« on: 24 June 2016, 09:25:04 PM »
We are very pleased to release our latest ancients line, the Early Siamese.  This range is suitable for the first dynasty, the Sukhothai, as well as early armies of the successor dynasty, the Ayutthaya.

They are available here:
http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/siamese.html

The codes released are:

King and sub-commander on elephants (elephants not yet having the one man howdah)

War elephants

Guardsmen

Warband with swords

Warband or skirmishers with spear

Archers

The baggage elephants have been made and will be released in a month or so.

Mickey Sims painted them according to SD Forum....and a nice job he did.
There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today...turn two points to port.

I've just shown them to my wife, who is Siamese (so is one of our cats, mind you). She is impressed, but asks "cavalry?"

The army is optionally permitted a handful of poor quality cavalry. Not first on the list of things to make!  They don't really add anything to the tactics of the army.

For instance Lorenzo Mele's winning Sukhothai period Siamese army had every elephant in the list, with warband foot and some skirmishing archers. No cavalry.

I have just had to critically remind myself that my finances won't permit ordering new armies for another year. I do wish Khurasan would stop teasing me like this  :(
I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.

The skirmishers and archers would seem to have some potential for use as Early Vietnamese or as tribal allies of Warring States (and later) Chinese. How unique are those kilts and shorts to the Siamese?
