Five more conversions:

Starting from the left:

MAD MINISTER MORDECAI
Prowls Bodmin Moor warning of the evils of drink (not sure what he was, maybe a Foundry or similar Victorian vampire hunter; head has been changed for a Crusader SYW).

RUM-SOAKED ROBERTS
A smuggler who's never sober and aims better for it (Dixon Minis with pistol added to left hand)

PRUSSIAN BILL
Leads a smuggling gang (Foundry; left hand was also holding club but modded to replace with a pistol)

MISTER BATES
The innkeeper (Hasslefree fantasy villager; clothing alterations only)

MISTER ERASMUS FORTITUDE
A gentleman of worth; former soldier and adventurer (Foundry duellist; empty right hand removed and replaced with sword, pistol and left hand both significantly reduced in size; both lower legs reshaped as they were massive)

BTW, the Custom House Riding Officer is HONEST JOHN LOCK, a parsons son.

I also have a couple of Minden SYW Labourers who I've modified the open hands on to become stable boys or kitchen boys (same height but much slimmer so pass as youths), plus a Foundry gentlewoman, a Dixon female (MISSUS BATES), and a Dixon man with woman other shoulder. Once they're all painted up there'll be enough for a quick 2x2 game.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Indeed. Jamaica Inn. I loved the movie or TV-series :-/ and she's one of my fave female writers. And yes these conversions are very well done. Looking forward to seeing some more of that. ;-)

Thanks.  :)

TBH I've never read/watched the Daphne du Maurier story though I usually pass by the Inn at least once a year. The north Cornwall coast is a favourite of mine.

In case anyone is interested, here's some background to smuggling in north Cornwall:

There's also a pretty handy small book:

The Cornish Smuggling Inn
By Paul White
Published by Tor Mark

I purchased my copy from the smuggling museum at .... Jamaica Inn.  :D

I do like that Inn. The northern moors board should do decent double duty here.

You should give it a go Steve. It really is a good read, like a lot of Daphne Du Maurier's works (The House on the strand is my personal favourite - medieval time travelling, good stuff).
I actually thought the BBC adaptation of Jamaica Inn (last year? Maybe the year before?) was pretty good too, despite the accusations of mumbling. Well worth a watch.

Nice conversions by the way  8)

Audible have it as an audio book if you fancy listening to it while you're painting:

Thanks chaps.

I guess I'll get the book, though nowadays I tend to find that reading eats into my hobby time. Audible is an interesting suggestion but to be honest I find painting etc to be totally absorbing so I wouldn't even notice it in the background.  :D

Lovely work on those conversions. Why didn't I think of those? lol

lol. I am grateful, you know!

I'm especially pleased with Mad Minister Mordecai while the changes to the duellist make him a lot more casual.

Though I have since lengthened Prussian Bill's left arm by giving him 'more elbow'  :)

Yes, I can see why now on closer inspection. ;)

I reckon about 1/2 the views on my threads must be down to me as I go back to review (and review, review, review) what I have done!  :o

That's why they are so absorbing Steve, can't wait to see the figures painted up. You probably are aware of the Civilian figures from Black Hussar minatures but I thought I'd make you aware just in case you can use them.
