Greetings from Alaska!
« on: 24 January 2009, 12:18:16 PM »
Hello everybody!

I recognize a lot of familiar names here, from TMP and various other forums that I frequent.

Fore those who don't know me, I live in central Alaska.  I'm 33 and I've been fiddling about with miniatures since I was 11 years old - my first figure was a Ral Partha "Ranger in Mail with Bow".  I've played all sorts of games over the years, mostly fantasy or sci-fi:  Battletech, Warhammer and 40K, Clan War, Inferno, Warcry and Battlelust, AD&D Battlesystem, and I've tried a couple of Napoleonic and WW2 games.

For the last few years I've mostly played Wargods of Aegyptus, with a little bit of Chronopia and Warmachine thrown in for spice.

Recently I've started my own miniatures company, "Forge of Ice", which is mostly a vanity project giving me an excuse to have a few figure ideas that I've had rattling around in my head finally made into real miniatures.  I've been blogging my progress here:

I'll be a bit all over the map with my releases, but overall most of my stuff will have a Pulp Fantasy/Lost World theme to it.

A few people have reccomended that I check in here, and I've been lurking for a bit, so I finally decided to sign up.

So... um... hello!

-Alex

Welcome on this forum, you are right: a lot of the same names are on different fora.

Last december I bought your tents and I like to say that they are gourgeous! (I haven't paint them yet  ::))
I'm also playing Wargods (only 4 games uptill now), but its a really nice game.

I like the tents!

Are you from North Pole? Or Fairbanks? On google maps there is a huge cloud of smoke over the cities, coming from mount doom or something?!

Belated welcomes from me too! Very cool to see you in this forum, Alex. On TMP I've often noticed that your gaming interests coincide with mine, especially on the whole pulp fantasy, swords and sorcery front. So, I hope you're finding LAF agreeable :)

Very much so - it's got the variety of TMP but with pictures added and politics removed, none of the crudeness of Frothers, and a lot of enthusiastic and distressingly talented people.  I like it quite a bit!
