Help
« on: 25 January 2009, 08:50:58 PM »
Hello Everyone.

A friend of mine is looking to buy all of there favourite Marvel characters in 28mm, and Ive offered to help them.

Does anyone know any sites of companies that sell them?

Thanks

What country he's in would help narrow the recommendations. But I'd suggest www.frpgames.com, which sells Heroclix singles, although they're out of many singles from older releases.

Good luck.

About 28mm?

No seriously, bendy plastic miniatures from the Marvel/DC/Dark Horse etc. etc.. worlds all played around the core clix rules.

They've been cancelled, (or in the process) so best grab em while you can. Ebay is good for singles but beware of overinflated prices.

And did I mention they're a bit bendy?

The earlier ones or the thiner ones can be very bendy. However most of the later ones are still usable to repaint.

Unfortunatly all the spidey sculpts are rubbish and VERY bendy :(

Disagree there mate, I've got this one:

If you cut and turn the web firing hand to the right position rather than 'sign of the devil dude', and clean up the flashlines, remove the webbing under the arms, (not to everyone's taste), undercoat and paint it comes out really nicely.

Can't post up currently as still transferring from AOL's failed photostore but worth looking at.

You can find all sorts of the clix on e-Bay for next to nothing.  Best thing to do is find a e-Bay store that sells the singles and has a good shipping rate for multiple items and just buy from them.  Some add .25 per additional clix after the 6th one so if you spend the time to kinda look around and do some pricing you can pretty much get everything you need for under a couple bucks a mini after shipping.

I just picked up a couple Bat Sentries for my WWWII gaming to keep the streets of Gotham safe from criminals and Nazi 5th Columnists.

Hey everyone, thanks for the help!

Ive ordered my friend some Heroclix stuff.

Im just wondering now, what are the mold lines like and how do they take to painting? Ive had bad experiences with soft plastic modles before

thanks everyone

Scrape the lines/sandpaper, spray using undercoat and paint as usual.

No problems really.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Ive got some fancy new heroclix models now and ive rebased the lot. Im going to spray them all in the morning.

One of them, 'beast', I left it as it was pre-painted. The outhers deffo need a re-paint in my opinion.

My friend is very happy with them......im not.....I have to paint them :(
