(AP 2016) Beardy Stuff

Thought I would join in with six months of painting beards, starting with........

First of my starter force for Saga gaming, two points of Anglo Danes from Saxon Miniatures. Shields are a mix of transfers and hand painted.

Excellent unit.  A good start to the army.

Really like the consistent paintwork and not easy to tell which shields are hand-painted and which are transfers.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. I usually go more dark and grungy, so these were a bit outside my comfort zone but I liked them in the end.

The second batch of Danes. These are less impressive than the first, all the impact comes from the shields, the guys carrying big axes either don't have a shield or it's slung over their back. Still, good to get them out of the way, got a four point Saga force just waiting for action. The ultimate aim is to expand to 7 or 8 points, but I want to play a few games before deciding on any new recruits.
