A quick update...

Gun tubs complete except for the stanchions.

Fixed the "Lamp poles"... they are now "engine room heat release tubes."   8)

Also went through a "rivet hell" to finish off the hull.

Yet to go... gun tub stanchions, the tail fin, the base and painting.

Au revoir!

And here I thought fried, with an antelope filling. lol

@Topic, it certainly looks the part, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I´m looking forward to the finished piece. :)

Well...

It's been a long time, but I knew one day I would return.  Hat Tip to Gamer Mac for his inspirational Zeppelin tread which also helped me get back to building.

Soooo.... the build is finally finished.  Added a few bits and bobs, the rudder and constructed the base.  Now on to final painting.

She's a real beast and weighs in at a little over half a kilo.

Anybody have any ideas on what I should do with the supports?  Leave them like they are in wood?  Paint them?  Blue... Black... Still not sure.

I'd say paint them a smooth, glossy black, if possible, and add some gold or brass decoration where they meet the hull; the bottom joints could be hidden in some high grass (if it suits your choice of base deco).

Alternatively, you could wrap them up somehow to make them resemble palm trees/trunks.

Okay...

I plan to paint the bottom of the Blunderbuss black... so maybe I'll go with blue for the supports.

I'll also try to hide the bottom joints, but I don't think I will be going to crazy with the landscaping.

I can belive you! I have invest two days designing and building three little animals cages for my African scenarios, so I can imagine the work and effort you are putting in your project...

But as Calimero said, looking at the result, well worth it!  :)
