Belated Hi
« on: 27 January 2009, 10:37:14 AM »
Thought I'd better introduce myself after bombarding you with pics of my stuff.
As you can probably guess I tend more towards the modelling side of the hobby. I do however want my creations to 'do something' rather than create static vignettes/dioramas. I enjoy the design and modelling challenge that entails. I actually have relatively little gaming experience, being a 90% modeller/10% gamer but tend to base my modelling/army projects primarily around periods/rulesets that take my fancy. Over the years I’ve concentrated on the following periods

Fantasy - 28mm LoTR. I've been collecting figures since the mid 1980's. Recently I’ve adopted ‘Armies of Arcana’ as the main gaming ruleset. That has been the main inspiration to revamp my collections and create the ‘Sahyun’ Fortress.
Orkish - Chronicle/Grenadier Orcs
Gondorian - GW Bretonnians, Foundry, Gripping Beast Feudals
Rohirrim - Mithril Miniatures, GW, Gripping Beast
Haradrim – Vendel, A&A, Gripping Beast, Perry Arabs, Sassanids, etc. with converted Mumakil

HOTT (28mm)
Orkish – Ral Partha Giant Goblins
Egyptian Undead – Ral Partha and GW et al.

Also on the books…  (28mm)
‘Warped Nature’ A Narnia-esque inspired mishmash of Eureka frogs, GW Beastmen, Dryads, Lizardmen, Terrain Warehouse Raptors and others

Melnibonean, composed mostly of GW High Elves, Dragon Princes, with an evil twist with some assorted beasties and conversions

Historical periods
My largest historical period is now RCW/Mongolian Civil War 15mm. I have an extensive assortment of Peter Pig, Old Glory 15s, Minifigs and Irregular Chinese, White Russian, Soviets, with converted Mongolians, Siberians etc. even Yaks. inspired by the Copplestone ‘Back of Beyond’ ranges, but rendered in a smaller scale!

Early 19th century in 15mm (for DB*)
Ottoman Turk
Arabian (1811-1819)
Greek War of Independence
Qajar Persian
Maratha (Assaye reconstruction)
British Expeditionary force to Egypt 1807

13th century in 15mm (for DBA/M)
Feudal Spanish/Reconquista/Later Crusader
Granadine/Mamluk

Samurai – Sengoku Jidai (for DBA)
Takeda, Hojo and Tokugawa clans

WW1 Aerial
About 60 1:144th aircraft which grew out of an interest in early squadron markings/personal 'heraldry', with a handful of 1:72nd Western front and Russian Civil War aircraft
Warriors dreams, summer grasses, all that remains
