Rolling stock access

As it says on the tin  :) For games involving railway models and trains/rolling stock/carriages, do you prefer to have internal access or isn't it something that you require?

cheers

From the scaled size of the model trains I have seen I don't think there is enough space to make it worth while

Depends on the car. For passenger cars, not really, because as mentioned they would be too cramped inside to game (though I would prefer transparent/cut-out windows... but those can be converted with effort if you do make closed passenger cars with solid opaque windows), but for goods/box cars, yes, as the space is open and therefore enough to be worthwhile and if it's a car with sliding doors on both sides (as they usually are) you can open them up to change the way the car might be used as cover (possibly even opening them in-game).

Also, I am excited about what this poll question might mean!  :D

Gondolas and flats for mounting guns or infantry sections - the rest I am not too worried about as the troops inside can be held off board until needed.

As FramFramson remarks though in a skirmish game like IHMN opening box car doors might be useful.

Not bothered.
I'm starting on a sci-fi train in 28mm. The cars are huge and would certainly have enough space for figs inside, but I'm not bothering to do interiors or access.  It's just too much work for space that won't be utilized in a game context anyway where the train will likely just long narrow scenery.

That said, I am adding a bit of platform areas at the various car ends/entrances so that minis have a place to stand on the exteriors.
