Hunting for supers models
« on: September 03, 2016, 03:24:30 AM »
Looks like I'm out of debt and have clear sailing to the end of my Grad Dip, how on Earth did that happen?  lol

This year I've been taking stock of old projects and clearing out what I no longer need in favour of finishing my real passions, like Superheroes. Those who read my blog may be familiar with my Wish List of commercial supers: http://leadcapes.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/rethinking-wish-list.html
This is a little different, these are for my homebrew games and are for characters of my own creation or reinterpretation. This means that I'm going to have to describe the kind of miniature I'm looking for, rather than simply googling for a picture (for the most part), I trust that the LAF brains trust will be a great deal of help in the process.  ;)

- A robot that looks built for running and ramming, maybe with its head?
- A modern-ish "Robin Hood" type with bow and hood, something like Oliver Queen's look on the island in the first episode of Arrow.
- A humanoid shape made out of smoke or gas.
- A couple of Caucasian guys in casual clothes who can be made to look flying around, ala Chronicle
- A guy in street clothes, jacket with samurai sword, without cybernetics
- A post-apoc female, a bit Mad Max-ish, but not Furiosa.
- A bearded, one-armed man is something a bit like gi
- A skeletal wizard in a hooded cloak, hood up and face hidden
- Baron Samedi, specifically a skeleton in top hat and tails
- A "ferryman" ala Charon
- Blacula (yes, really)
- A mostly naked female vampire, ala Vampyros Lesbos (for legit reasons, I swear)  ;D

I'll probably be adding to and/or changing it as I go, but that will do for the moment, thanks in advance LAFers!

Check out Reaper. They have a bunch of those that might suit you.

I have to admit, one of my favorite parts of this hobby is trawling through Miniatures manufacturers and google to find a mini that will fit for a character I have in mind.

In fact, I probably do this more than any painting, modeling or gaming.... :(

Anyhow, heres one possibility for your naked Vamp.  She could easily be painted to 'look' more vampirish.  (pale skin, bloody lips, dark hair>

Not sure what kind of running robot you're after.  Dreadball seems to have a few.  Here's an example>

The vampire woman would be suited by a mini in the celtos range I think, although she has a snake,

Old Glory's Superfigs has some possibles.  The "running robot" model could be converted off either Fastlane

http://oldglory25s.com/view_product.php?product=ZB21

or High Gear

http://oldglory25s.com/view_product.php?product=ZB22

or if you want something bigger and chunkier, there's the Ogre-sized Battering Ram

http://oldglory25s.com/view_product.php?product=SF-ZA-8

depending on whether you want a boybot or femmebot.

Thanks for the help so far guys, I've some considering to do...

As for the archer, I'm after something more like this:

The female Vamp:

Very NSFW, just a heads-up.

Hasslefree's Kevs tend to have changeable heads, right, or am I remembering incorrectly?

Some of Hasslefree's do, but most of them do not (have interchangeable heads)

Hasslefree Kevs have changable weapons, not heads. Gun, axe, samurai sword if I remember correctly.

I have seen at least two or 3 not-Blades over the years. West Wind did one, I'll see if if can dig out links for others.
