Need to find a decent lump of time to rebuild the tracks - mostly they survived being removed from the backing plates but a couple of bits need remaking.

The turret is roughed out, it'll not be as bad as I thought as despite it's complex shape the storage bins cover quite a lot of it!
Then it'll be the detail...

Next project is hovering too...  had a few ideas...  big heavy and soviet...
In my time line is the IS-7 but the Object 279 is sooo tempting...

Object 279 ....swoon :-*

There's a good review of the Takom 1/35 kit that has lots of detail.

Woo!

I imagine that they planned on covering up those tracks to an extent right, though is there any material to back this up?

Yep, that was the plan, though I imagine the new crew would be hosing out what was left of the previous occupants given the horrific irradiated tissue breakdown from being close enough to the blast for that to be an issue, probably one of the (many) reasons why the project didn't make it very far - cool looking thing though.

All the heavy tanks were canned when kruchev declared no tank should weigh more than 37 tons.  This one was 50+

At least they are sort of one upturned bowl shape.  THis Centurion turret is all odd angles adn rounded corners (which will then almost but not quite be covered in stowage boxes)

The 279 will be a total PITA I know already but at least he hull curves are relatively gentle so I'll try and sheet that with thin plasticard.
I have a plan for that (just need to finish the Centurion before starting...)  The turret will be 'interesting' as it's got a few lumps and bumps on it too.

Got a good set of drawings though.
