Wish they'd revisit the 2nd Anglo-Boer War. Yes it's niche, but when has that ever stopped them?  lol

Nice looking figures.
Six mounted, twelve dismounted.
Do some of the dismounted figures match with the mounted?
Hard to tell from the photos.

The Perry Boer figures are designed with the sixth, seventh and eighth Cape frontier wars in mind, i.e 1834 to 1853. Due to Sir Harry Smith's diplomatic ineptitude, the Boers largely sat out the eighth war, so the minis are mostly 1830's and 1840's, though they could be used for the 1860's as well. By the ninth war, the Boers had acquired more modern weapons so these figures aren't suitable for 1877-1879.

Arthur,

Not knowing anything about the period but fascinated by these new figures. Which British infantry figures could be used with these Boers as, say for example a relief force for beleaguered Boers in a laager? Are the new Perry figures  suitable for this period?

Willie B,

The Perry Cape Wars range includes a selection of British troops as well.

Those Boers would make pretty good ACW Confederate militia or bushwhackers.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

Hi Mad Guru,

yes, I've seen those Perry figures ( in fact I've already bought a set of officers, but they will feature in the Indian Mutiny) but I'm confused with the time frames. For example I just read that the Boers weren't very active in the 8t Cape War and the new (workbench) Perry British infantry is exactly for the 8th CW.
The earlier packs are mostly for  the 7th and 8th CW which means from 1946-1853 but the newest packs say suitable for the First Afghan War which was earlier in 1839-1842?
Perhaps the uniform didn't change all that much but I just want to make sure I won't be buying the wrong figures.

I'm planning a small Sharpe Practice 'army' with Boers, infantry and levies (since Axel will be doing the Xhosa :))
