Revisiting the 6 inch Howitzer. Rescaled as the original build in summer 2015 was too big.

While I'm off doing mountain guns and VSF walkers you go and build the 6 in I'm promised to do next.😆

Fantastic work! I had a go at 75mm mountain howitzer, but never made it past the wheels - would you perhaps maybe by any chance be willing to make a quick "tutorial" for the build in general? Please?

A tutorial would require detailed instructions and photos. I don't have time to do that at present, but read this thread put together by Mark (Tin Shed Gamer) about the basics of card modelling: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=72816.0

I also use styrene tubes and other bits including glass micro-beads (used in the nail-bar industry) for rivets.

I started with the scale drawings available on the Landships website: http://landships.info/landships/artillery_articles.html#

I also had to hand many photos and the Osprey book on WW1 British Heavy Artillery.

I rescaled the plans on the PC so that they were about 1/56 giving a wheel diameter of about 27mm. I used these plans as templates for the various parts of the field carriage and wheels and for taking measurements for the gun itself (made from styrene tube and card). The rest is PVA, Superglue and lots of swearing!
