Armoured Cleric for D&D
« on: 03 October 2016, 10:31:01 PM »
Painting has been glacially slow... Picture-taking has been even slower... Here's a D&D figure that I just finished taking pictures of, it was done two months ago, and it took me two months to paint... In any case:

The picture isn't great. I'm still trying to figure out how to take good pictures in the space I now have...

Thanks
n

The Holy Guy painted up BEAUTIFULLY. AND the background is GORGEOUS! VERY WELL DONE!

Excellent choice of colors - I really like him.

I think it is a very good photo, actually.

That's not a cleric, where's his mace?

It's a very nicely painted mini, but aren't Clerics supposed to wield blunt weapons?

Thanks for the kind words guys!

As for blunt weapons, it looks like 5th edition D&D threw that whole restriction out the door. Clerics are proficient with any simple weapons, and there's a number of special perks they can take that will enable anything...

Thanks again,
n

That shield is fantastic.  Clean and evocative both.

I think it was done away with in 3rd Edition (possibly 2nd, I don't have a 2nd edition book around) when they started allowing spheres based upon the gods and each god kind of having a specific weapon associated with their followers.

I think it's still so popular at least in minis since it helps to distinguish the cleric from a fighter.
