Beautiful stuff!
I absolutely love the acrylic templates and markers. Wish I had acces to such fancy gear, I'd love me a set like those.

Those template look the nuts (you spoilt architectural snobby types.... ;)).

Love the colour scheme that you chose for the Orcs.
Looks spot on to me.

And you still spoke to me civilly all afternoon today knowing that I was none the wiser of what you had posted here.
Shocking!

Some lovely work there, but you have my sympathies if you're trying to use Orcs in that game.  Their performance under the rules as written was so bad at least two of our locals quit the game over them way back when, and I sarcastically converted all of my Orc figs so that their ships were listing, battered. half-sunken wrecks (which was better than the fully-sunken state they actually wound up in during most games).

Still an unpleasant memory, and it ruins my nostalgia for the game.

very true, orcs are by far the weakest fleet. This will make any victories all the sweeter!

I have been reading up on Orc fleet tactics and it seems that although their ship of the line squadrons are sub par, their strength lies in the Orc hulks.

I think the write up in the link above is spot on and agree that when playing as the orcs it's all about attitude, not necessarily winning. They are the 'baddies' after all! ;)

Pretty much every word of that link is true, and most Orc players in the old days came to the same conclusion in just a few games, especially once the Plague Fleet stuff hit.  Skaven and Chaos and Dark Elves are "baddies" too, but their rules produce (at worst) decent games, and some combinations are just plain too strong.  I'm looking at you, teleporting Tzeentch fleet.

I still never managed a single win with Orcs in over two dozen games with them, but my closest fights were with fleets composed of maximized Hulks and none of the suicidal Drillakillas at all.  Hopefully you'll do better (or adopt house rules, which was the other general fix I recall) but do remember, while winning isn't everything, giving your opponent an interesting game instead of a challenge-free walkover is pretty important if you want to keep them coming back for games.  It's regrettably hard to put up a good fight with Orcs under RAW, and beating them up gets dull as quick as losing with them does.

I can certainly believe it. Although, if you could see how badly Jimbibbly rolls, I say the orcs chances of winning are significantly improved!  lol

Even after all these years it remains an excellent fun game.
Problem always was the record keeping and you've fixed that!
