First pass at the turret AA armor, might try again.

Find someone with the Bolt Action Tiger II and a resin bath? Those come away as whole units. As it stands right now its using those sections, or buying a Rubicon kit and taking out the tracks. I'd wanted Tiger II tracks on my own, but it seemed like too much hassle (as I'd already built the thing before noticing).

I wish Rubicon would make a tiger II!  That would give us the parts to make a few of the E series... Alas, I have never been impressed with bolt actions resin kits, the detail is usually lousy and the large resin pours tend to warp and be completely out of square and un usable.  They are also difficult to kit bash.  I think I will go with the factory extras story and hide the crappy track detail with some mud...  Have you posted any pics of your "F"?  I would love to see it...

I already contact Rubicon over the Tiger II. There's no plans at the moment for one, they want to focus on stuff which will cover the early war. I instead bought a Warlord resin one myself, and spent an hour chipping off the resin rear deck to accept the Rubicon Panther one. :(

I'll post my Panther tonight. I've had too much on lately to finish anything, and don't really like posting WIPs though.

Putting steel resilient wheels on your Panther would look cool, but at the moment the only reasonable way would be to convert those that come with the Rubicon Tiger. Perhaps you could find someone in the Bazaar prepared to sell or trade them (if theyre making the early version) if you don't want the Tiger.

I thought the late road wheels on the tiger I were different than the tiger II... I need to check, because that's a good idea,. Wonder about diameter though...

Nice job on the turret, I wish I'd put the cabling for the IR gear on mine, it looks great.

wow really coming on well  ;D

with regards to the wheels they planned to replace the rubber rimmed wheels with rubber saving wheels (steel wheels) and new single guide horn tracks but both where not ready so early Ausf F would have had the rubber rimmed wheels and normal Ausf G tracks (double guide horn)
again all info from Panzer tracts

Cheers Ian

That's Jentz and Doyle right?  Their book on the F has been out of print for ever!   You have a copy?!!!

Not quite there yet with the spare track holders, but I think it's a good start...
