The end and new beginnings of Dredd
« on: 26 October 2016, 01:24:37 PM »
Well not completely, looks like Moongose and Warlord are selling off their Dredd stuff and Mongoose have not picked up the license to continue, Matt from Mongoose has intermated on the kickstarter page that someone may have already got the rights

quote from Kickstarter

Good morning all!

As some of you have noted, we have passed on the 2000AD licence - however, this does not affect the Kickstarter projects in any way. You will all get the miniatures you are after.

All the miniatures have been sculpted/prototyped, and are now with the casters (Warlord and Ainsty) to be cast up - we are expecting Ainsty to finish the Pat Wagons, well, any time now, and Warlord are predicting early next year to complete their metals.

As soon as the last Pat Wagons are with us, we will do an update that lists everything that has been sent out thus far, so you can run your own checklists and find out if anything has gone awry in the post - anything that has gone missing will be replaced immediately if we have it in stock, or early next year with Warlord's last castings if not.

We have removed the Judge Dredd miniatures from our web site, as we have several out of stock items already. However, they are still available from Warlord, and will continue to be so until the end of November (with a good discount too!)

Bugger.....and bugger! Someone did point me in the direction of the Warlord 2000AD sale, but most of it was sold out! I kinda figured that's what had happened!

Is it just me or is this a bad year for celebrity deaths? :o

So, wait, what...?

Does that mean once the last kickstarter stuff has shipped next year that there will be no more Dredd minis on sale from Warlord? If so, I hope whoever gets the licence continues to produce them.

And while we're making pie in the sky wishes, maybe do some new ones with consistent equipment, believable anatomy and non-dancing poses....

As far as i know, the dredd stuff is pretty much sold out on Warlords site, and Mongoose have removed all their stuff,
I was half hoping that Crooked Dice might pick up the rights, but it looks like someone else have

So not Warlord, not Mongoose - who then?

Warlord had their 50% off blowout and it seems to be all over. End of Dredd.

The Warlord stocks were pretty low even before that sale. I was looking for the Fatties figures a little while back and a lot of the blisters were already out of stock.

I wanted Kleggs for my Block Wars project but they had already gone...

So Warlord bought a range off an independent company only to kill it off? Wow. How unusual.

Could it be Prodos?

I would have jumped at that, but likely beyond our meagre means. I think 7TV rules would have worked nicely for it.

Not to break LAF's usual friendly demeanour but I'm sure the blame rests on Matt's shoulders. I can't believe so many have been duped for so long by such a weasel of a man. I hope he goes the way of Tony Riedy.

Bugger. Hadn't realised the Warlord sale would potentially be the last of the stock. I hesitated for a few hours and missed everything!
