Fort Vaux at Crisis 2016

I am very excited to be attending Crisis 2016 with my 'Inside Fort Vaux' game next weekend.  Myself, Tom Webster-Deakin and Nick Eyre will be running participation games to commemorate the four-day battle inside the corridors of the fort in June 1916.  The game is simple to pick up, works for 1-3 players, and takes about 40 minutes, so please drop by and give it a go.  Hope to see you there.

We are just inside the door of Hall 2 on stand g06a04, listed as 'Newark Irregulars - Inside Fort Vaux'.

 Cheers everyone, it was super to be at such a friendly show. We ran about ten games for Belgian, Dutch, French, German and Irish gamers. The rules seemed to go down pretty well too.

We went onto Arras on Saturday night and walked the 1917 battlefield at Oppy Wood (next year's project planning), and I had the most unexpected bonus of finding a relative (my mum's great uncle) on the memorial to the missing in Arras. Further investigation (courtesy of Dan Mersey) showed that he had been in the Royal Flying Corps and was shot down by the Red Baron himself at the start of the offensive we were researching! We'll have to see if Great Uncle Reg can make an appearance in next year's game...

I played To the Strongest in the morning (great ancients game by the way), and had to pick up some pre-ordered items and do some chatting with friends I hadn't seen for a while. So the day was a few hours too short...

Wargames Illustrated has an article coming up about the game and how it was made; they took the shots in the dark and have really captured the feel of the model. I've seen the draft pages and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Should be in the magazine in January if you're interested.

Ah! Did we win a prize? Afraid not, but there were many fantastic games there. Anyway the prizes were so big this year, we might have struggled to fit it in the car on the way home.😀

The To The Strongest game looked excellent- so many 15mm figures! Glad you enjoyed it, I like a bit of TtS too.
