Swiss, Burgundians and early Landsknechts... oh my!
« on: November 01, 2016, 09:36:29 PM »
Inspired by Koppi's Bretten siege post, my 15mm Wars of the Roses crush is slowly losing some of its passion.

Do any of you fine folk know where I can find 15mm early landsknechts?
Not the stereotypical Pavia 1525 Landsers.

Ideally, that would fit in with Legio Heroica Burgundians and Swiss.

Thoughts, opinions and pointers all welcome, as this is an area I have very little knowledge in.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don\'t get sucked into jet engines.

Would the late medieval/early renaissance troops have looked all that different?

Have you looked at the Mirliton ranges?

I hadn't considered them in all honesty, I heard that they discontinued the Italian Wars range they stocked, and so wrote them off as a possibility.

Thanks for the input folks.

Hi Fletcher,

I'm happy, that I have inspired your thoughts. I'm not the specialist in 15 mm medieval ranges, but just have a look at War of the roses ranges. Maybe you can do a headswap by some of the figures, using early Landsknecht heads from other ranges, instead of the original heads.
It isn't perfect, but in 15 mm it will works.
My own forthcoming Bretten troop will use the Perry WotR range with the socalled european heads, the Perries sell separetly.
Maybe that helps you a little bit.
