The Temple Of The Eternal Fire
« on: 11 February 2009, 12:49:25 PM »
The temple of the Eternal Fire - campaign.

There are usually eight players with myself running the game. We started off with every man for himself but it was a bit much. So now the eight players are split into two teams.

The Heroes
Prof. Windsor-Smyth –Famous explorer and Archaeologist
Prof Elisabeth Windsor-Smyth – His Daughter
Robby Ruckus – Industrialist crime fighter, head of the Sky Rangers
Mr Smith – Secret agent for the mysterious Agency

The Villains
Geldric Vandenberg – Mercenary and treasure hunter
Heidi Schlampe - Nazi
Standartenführer Scheublich - Nazi
Jim Rossine – Gangster Mob Boss

So far there have been five Games/boards:-

Game one was set in a museum finding clues and trying to rescue the museum Curator, to start the adventure – The hunt for the temple of the Eternal fire

Game two was set in a bazaar- A fight to get the Curator who had been captured by one of the villains. I have done quit a bit more work to this board since this photo was taken. Still not 100% finished.

Game three was a Head hunter village and bridge – A trek thought the jungle hunting for the temple of Eternal fire.

Game four was a Secret path through the jungle – Follow a secret path through the jungle avoiding the traps and monsters that protect the temple entrance.

Never took any decent pictures of the game but here are some to the terrain pieces used.

Game five is the Temple its self – The cult of the Red Tarantula are using the temple as a Hide out. Using the healing powers of the eternal fire to heal up injured cultists and to extend the life span of the cultists leader, The Red Tarantula him self.

The whole set up

One of the encounters is going to be lava flowing every time someone shoots in the temple. Still to play this game. So I will see how it work out.

The idea for the cavern/temple was stolen from Tsunes thread. Sorry :'(

Excellent set up for that final board. I like the Eternal Flame altar. Nice.  :)

And borrowing ideas is a form of flattery. No need to apologize for it.

Great looking stuff!

I like the idea of using the marble tile (?) for the floor in the museum.  Simple but effective!   :)

Like it - have tried to play some linked games like this with our club. Trouble is, not meeting weekly any more, we don't get far enough on with any stage.

Having the same trouble myself. What I have been doing it when it is time to finish and the game is not complete is to take photos of the action and use the photos to set the game up the next time.
The other problem I am having is with eight players sometimes one does not turn up which can ruin the flow of the game.

Very nice scenery and ideas! All together seem a it is a very fun campaign. I like the bazaar very much and the trap is a great idea very well executed!! I will borrow it ;)

Curiously, the next project I am going to start (next week when the Valley will be finished) is a cthulhu/.45 campaign that I have wrote with my brother and the first scenario is a museum. Looking at yours, I have to rethink some of my own ideas.

I have not realized that you said that your cave was inspired by mine, and I was going to say that I made a very similar one!  lol  As Operator5 has said, you do not need to apologize for doing it. In fact, I am happy that something I have made is considered a good idea, as I take almost all of my own ideas from pictures and the great ideas of this forum and the people that share them. I have never made scenery before, but looking at the Grimm's Lost World project and inspired by a lot of pictures of this forum, I decided to try doing boards like the ones I loved to see here, and share it.

Ah, and the las scenario in the valley happens in the volcan, with lava rivers, etc! so, I think we pulp players have a lot of similar ideas! I have not post pictures still because I know my players look this forum and I do not want to give clues to them  :-X

Thanks for sharing your work.

It is a very nice scenery and game idea.

I was in the middle designing some museum for my gaming, too, and your marble (?) tile for the floor of it is a brilliant idea.

For the museum I buyed an adhesive paper that simulates marble. So I could place it in the floor and the walls too, and cut it to simulate 28mm scale tiles.

From the picture I can not see if the gamer Mac's board is made from this same paper or if it is a real marble tile.

The marble effect is a bit of kitchen splash back left over from when I done our 1/1 scale kitchen. Basically wood with a fake marble cover.
