Author Topic: Why aren't links posted on LAF color coded like on the rest of the web?  (Read 1972 times)

The LAF is literally the only forum I've ever seen that does not use link color-coding. All posted links show up as the same black text as normal text. When I use embedded link tags to turn a bit of text into a link, I have to manually color the anchor text blue in order to let people know there's anything there at all.

Is there a reason the LAF board is set to not color-code links? Is it possible to change this?

History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

Yep. Weird. A pain for the uninitiated.

I made a thread about this issue a couple of years ago but nothing ever came of it. Apparently it's not possible to do automatically.

I'd never really thought about it, personally it's never seemed a problem.

I always surround any links with underscore codes

Code: [Select]
xxx

which gives xxx

apologies for the "code" tag, it's the only one I could think of that wouldn't interpret the url and other tags. For all that, it would be nice if links were flagged automatically.

I always use the 'change color' myself. It's small extra work, but I could use any color I prefer.

Know what I mean?

Doug

Edit: Of course, I also tend to change the title. http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php
Example Don't much care for the red, but might just be my eyes.

Dammit, I thought it was going to take me to a more interesting site than the urban dictionary!
