Turks
« on: 11 November 2016, 11:10:57 AM »
I plan to add Turks to my forces.   I am buying foot from Woodbine, but I cannot find anyone that makes 28mm Turkish cavalry.   Can anyone help  me with a recommendation, please?   It would be nice to find some figures mounted on small, shaggy ponies rather than the strapping great hunters that the modellers always seem to make.

Caliver books have some mounted Turks in their Minifigs range - if you scroll down the list there is a picture of the lancer.

Here are companies that do 28mm Turks. Don't know if they have cavalry.

Irregular
Battle Honors
Copplestone
Brigade Games
Eureka Miniatures
Blaze Away
Tiger Miniatures (Balkan Wars but still would work).

Perry have some nice cavalry in their Sudan Range.

Many thanks one and all for your help.

The Perry Miniatures would be of no use for the 1920's but the Brigade Miniatures look pretty good if a little small, as you warn: Woodbine Miniatures are, I think, a bit small than Copplestone Castings which are rather massive.

Again, many thanks.

Unfortunately I think the Brigade Turk cavalry is no longer available.

Irregular do WWI Turks as well, but I have no figures to compare their size.  I did ask whether GB would add to the range, they hoped to but I gather the sculptor is far too busy.

Battle Honors makes Turkish cavalry-I'm guessing closer to 25mm than to 28mm

Old Glory have WW1 German cavalry. The uniforms are very similar to the Turkish so a simple headswap with Woodbine Turkish heads would do the job

There are few Turkish cavalry figures readily available and so relatively straight forward head lop conversations work well
