New Brigade Games Darkest Africa/Congo Figures

Congo fever has just hit New Jersey, the carrier for this highly contagious disease being a certain Mr Paul Hicks :

As they are Paul Hicks they will mix very nicely with the anglo-zulu stuff Empress have for more variety.

Does anyone know if Northstar will be stocking these or do you have to order from Brigade direct?

Brigade direct...although at the moment even with the dollar dropping that exchange rate is way too high, price per miniature it's actually more expensive than foundry.

Awesome sculpts! Now I'm wondering if I could get away with using the Askaris for East Africa ww1......

Great figures and very good to have more variety. But does anyone have any ideas how they would look next to Foundry's Darkest Africa?

Very nice, but it would be nice if Brigade Games would have a stockist in Europe! In Belgium we pay to much at the Belgian customs !

An excellent question, I think(don't quote me) that the Paul Hicks stuff is slightly smaller than the DA...but in saying that the DA range i've noticed is made up of 'new' bigger sculpts and some smaller older sculpts that clearly started out as old west mini conversions.

very useful above all the Askaris in skirts ...also if you already have many other other DA minis like me....they coud be used to give more varirety to Force Publique uniformes askaris, British East Africa, Portugal, WW1 types..in my opinion also Italian Somalia and even France AEF/AOF..so a kind of passepartout askaris..very useful
i support the same points
- compability with other manufactures (North Star, Foundry ecc...) types
- possibility to buy them trough EU/UK retailers..North Star for example

I don't think they will be compatible with Copplestones later stuff which suffers from enough scale creep to tower over his DA stuff.

Very nice!  I'd like to see three different scouts, however, considering you need three for Congo! and suitable figures with no ranged weapons aren't actually all that common.

Sterling Moose was nice enough to bring me some from Fall In. Here are two of the porters with a foundry in between them

One more. Brigade, foundry, brigade, Copplestone, North Star

Chairface - a very helpful comparison, thanks.  It looks to me as though the Brigade figures are slimmer than Foundry and with smaller heads, although there isn't that much in it.

For me it's close enough. I am mixing all of the companies in my Congo forces
