Sneak preview of my Dungeon for TACTICA 2009
« on: 12 February 2009, 04:58:05 PM »
The Dungeon needs only a little bit pimping - a wash and som detail. At the moment I'm busy painting the last group of heroes - dark elves . and then as many monsters as I can complete. I have about 30 monsters & groups of monsters finished and another 20 nearly complete.

Rules will be basicylly Warhammer Fantasy with about 200 magic items from the current edition.

The Dungeon WIP, with the Mosnters I completed at that time.

Dwarf adventuring party fighting a doombull

Human all-girl-group against the red Taurus

Elves corner a bestial vampire
If you come for the king, you better not miss (Omar)

Great stuff, really reminds me of the old PC game Dungeonkeeper.

I absolutely LOVE IT!  I've been dreaming about doing something like this, and its great to see it coming together for you.  Please post finished pics for those of us that won't be able to see it live.

I like it a lot. I built a dungeon last summer, I know how time consuming it can be.

Nice work :) A dungeon is still on my to do list.

The reason I wanted to get it started was for Warhammer Quest. Have you thought of using those rules for it?

WHQ was my first choice but I abandoned it for a WHFB conversion for several reasons - in WHFB there have been more available stats for heroes & monsters, a lot of people know the rules and for those who don't they are easier to learn than in WHQ. As it was ment for a demo game I think the choice was right. For private use WHQ is still an option.

Great looking dungeon you have there.  WHFB rules would work well, but have you thought of Mordheim as well?  Great for small skirmishing warbands with exp to gain and skills to learn for your heroes.

With Mortheim I would have to make up rules for the Monsters and adjust the warbands, as I think Mortheim is really unbalanced (just compare Skaven to dwarfs). And it's not that far from WHFB. The campaign system would work, but if I go for a campaign I think I'll prefer WHQ.

Yeah I can see that in some aspects.  My poor Stunties are soooo slow, while dirty rats get to move clear across the board.
