PS for dung heaps dr zombies and dr Vikings are both well worth looking at.

I do worry about these Danish doctors

Dung heaps are all the rage in Denmark this season.
Every self-respecting Dane must have one!

Now I almost did not want to reveal that I was pondering about which kitchen utensils I could hack to pieces and use for a dungheap, just the other day...  lol
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

No Dung heap Yet
Just this

Just the tower to finish and the roof to do
There is some wooden frame work for a wattle and dobe for the small attached house
The church will have a slated roof the house will have thatch.
What do you think?
I also got some monks and things to populate it, from gripping beast.

Looks like the beginnings of a fine church to me.  :)

Architecture may be a tiny tad too advanced (pointed arcs and tower - I think the 'Gothic' style it was introduced after the Norman Conquest, but I may be wrong) for the 'Legendary Dark Ages', but as it will be a great centrepiece for any table, who cares, really - I am looking forward to seeing it finished!

I 'm having a hard time stomaching that everyone seems to build stuff faster than me  lol

I don’t know why you are putting so much effort in to it, its only going to get burnt, pillaged and – hum not sure about the 3rd thing the Vikings did though.  lol lol lol

Seriously though it's looking great, I think the windows are good for a saxon church, I have a picture of one, I will look it out tomorrow if I remember.

Where is the dung heap though. ;)

You are clearly not of Viking stock. Every child in Scandinavia knows you burn last!

I may be wrong about the window. This is the church I was thinking of St Peters at Barton on Humber.

The tower is Saxon with the top floor being norman. The top of the windows are triangular, which is what I thought yours were.
Looking again at your model the window appears more rounded IE gothic at the top. But what the hell - it's only going to get burnt - after everything else that these Danes do lol

Been a long time since an update but this project is still going
Unemployed at the moment so some time on my hands

Any strange architecture is due to the abbot who has an interest in roman buildings where he got the idea for the couple of strange arches in the door and window
Also in the picture are some laymen to help protect the church from viking tourists

Can you lift off the roofs?

Either way, it should do fine on the table!  :)
