I'm about to stat up Hope Summers from X-Men and was wondering if the Copy Power ability can be used on friendly models, and if so, if you can choose not to defend/oppose the roll to make success easier.

I would rule that you still need to roll. You can let your opponent roll for the friendly character.

Great, thanks Scott! Re-reading the rule book entry, that's exactly how it's worded as it doesn't use the word 'enemy'. I guess I was also looking at it from the wrong angle in that I was thinking the opponents roll was them actively resisting the copying, when actually it represents powerful abilities being harder to copy, which makes sense no matter who it is.
