Thanks, Wolf Girl and Menelduir! @Menelduir, would that be shape-shifting once in each direction? Anyway, I could just imagine a procession of "harmless" komuso walking up to a plot point...

In theory with shape shifter as a league perk any character can have it, therefore what they change into could have it as well. Always only change into 1 form, but the harmless could change to combat mode and combat mode could change to harmless (or something else...) The limiting factor is only 6 turns in a typical game and shape shift is an action (unless activating in contact with enemy) so there is only so much you could accomplish in a game if you keep shifting.
