What did you use for the snow?

He uses Woodlands Scenic snow for the snow - just pour  :D Cleanup is a little harder but not much. :)

Got the facts from my friend  8)  They play using a hybrid Pathfinder/D&D 3.5 system.  He uses D&D tile sets for the floors only and so each square is 5 feet. The colored hexagons represent a prismatic wall spell filling that corridor.

That explains it! I always have trouble with prismatic wall spells!🤔

Clever use of those Heroscape tiles again. Very nice!

Very cool!  The snowy Necropolis is my favorite, but I would love gaming on any of those setups.

"They play using a hybrid Pathfinder/D&D 3.5 system"

That is our current version of "D&D", and has been for a loong time.   Although at the moment D&D is on hold and we are playing an experimental RPG version of Mordheim and Shadows of Brimstone (a.k.a the Wild West meets Cthulhu's cousins)

Great boards! You can tell that this Jackal guy makes his RPG sessions a labor of love.

We also play using Pathfinder (which is really D&D3.5++) and are very happy with the byzantine complexity of this ruleset. Definitely not for the casual gamer, though, since just creating your character can be a lengthy and even painful process.

Again, great work! Are all those mushrooms in the cavern of the giants board homemade?

The only thing I thought was a problem was the use of "paper miniatures" in the first dungeon board. If you go to this much trouble on the terrain, some of you lads ought to paint up some more figures to do it justice. <g>

His mushrooms are an ebay purchase. Yes I have said the same thing about paper miniatures. He uses a lot of minis to represent his monsters but most of the players have yet to catch the mini bug  :( In his defense they were all paper until about a year ago. I think we will see the minis eventually  :D

A quick way for the non-painters to get past the "paper miniatures" hurdle is to buy pre-paints. The Paizo/Wizkids prepaints aren't that bad (especially the first Rise of the Runelords case bundle) and sit relatively well next to home-painted ones.

Like the zombies in the foreground of this dungeon view.
