I think, for people who either A) can't paint (me), or B) want to turn out a lot of basic units...it's a winning strategy. Nothing I dip will win any awards, but it adds a lot of depth to a super simple paintjob, allowing me to crank out models pretty quick - to a standard I'm happy with. It gives me a finished product I'm not ashamed to put on a table, but I know it won't be the talk of the shop.

I think, if you're a solid painter, there's nothing here for you unless you want to churn out basic infantry types or something.
