Tree stumps.

I've been playing a bit of SOBH with my 8 yo lately and have found my terrain to be lacking in trees. I had an idea a while back of creating a forest out of tree stumps, basically a forest cross-sectioned above the minis heads so that you can see all the action without having greenery in the way and toppling over. I quickly whipped up some basic stumps out of air drying clay and once it had dried I used some GS on the gaps. I then made a mold out of it so I can quickly reproduce lots of them. Ill probably cast them in plaster but I had some resin I needed to use up first so made the ones you see below. A quick spray and wash, finished with some static grass to match the mat we play on.

Yeah, mine's more of a fantasy or scifi thing (or giant redwoods), and needed to be taller than yours seem to since there'll be a lot of larger things there.

But for actual effort, they really weren't that bad. Most of the issue with them is all the times you need to leave it to dry. I keep considering making a few more specifically to cast up and perhaps sell in the future.
