Thing is definitely right.
It's not until you build something out of the pages of 1889.That you really get the feeling that engineering wasn't the authors strong point.
Still I've only around six hours of mind numbing rivet bashing to go before undercoating. It's a good job the floors and walls are already painted ( technically the loo and the bunks are too.)otherwise I'd be up a certain creek.
These last two pictures should give a better sense of scale. I've built it so the roof section is a playable area as well as the interior. The roof section with the boiler is 40cm,and the bridge roof is 10.5cm long.Total length is 72.5cm( that came as a surprize and would explain why the Mrs is a bit miffed about is living on top of her fish tank and not out in my workshop.)

Mark.

Now that is rather swish, and not to mention large, indeed!
Looking forward to the paint.

Unfortunately I'm pulling out of this years competition. However I will finish this model before the end of the month on principal alone as I'm not having something this size hanging around ( its just too big to hide in a cupboard and pretend otherwise,)
So I will post its own thread on the forum once the competition has finished.

Glad to hear it's not something serious! When you said 'life gets in the road' you automatically think the worst! :o

I look forward to seeing it finished! You REALLY must have stood a great chance of winning! That's a fantastic beastie! :-*
