Comsquares BSC '17 entry: Flying Pirate Vessel
« on: January 06, 2017, 11:30:36 AM »
Ok, my entry for this years Build-Something-Contest will be a flying Pirate-Vessel, belonging to my Fantasy project of "Relicblades/Floating Islands", which can be seen here:
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=84915.0

It will be a smaller vessel for a fast hitting crew of just 5 men, raiding for fun and profit  ;)

Plan is to build it mostly from scratch, using as few ready parts as possible.

Hope to get some sketches done during the weekend and will post later today some inspiration-pics I found online.

Cheers
Comsquare

Edit:

Here are some of the pics I use for inspiration:

Really looking forward how this will end up, as it was between something like this and my current idea for what I woud build this BSC!
Good luck!

There is a movie that I have watched several times. The name is Stardust. It has Robert De Niro as a flying pirate. Really fun movie with lots of shots of his flying ship.

Something I fancied doing years ago when Rackham brought out their Goblin pirate box set.
Of course it remains a pipe dream....

One day you will make it, Paul  :)

Thanks James.

Right now there's not that much progress, I'm still in the scatching-stage.
In the end it will be a mixture of the ships seen in pic #1 and #3 I posted earlier.

So, hopefully tomorrow I will receive a book I ordered about "Building Shipmodells out of paper, card and wood", to give me a few ideas of building the hull.
