The finished model undercoated. This is junk; literally. It's all recycling and bits and pieces,  including plasticard offcuts and blue foam offcuts from other projects. I even used all the shampoo that came with the engines.

One of my favorite designs of this contest, looks great primed. I may have a go at something similar someday.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Thanks for the encouragement,  it's appreciated!

I'm going to have to mask off big areas of this for painting, which I've never done before. I have some decent modelling masking tape (instead of the decorator's stuff that pulls plaster off) and I'd thought about using that in conjunction with cling film or something similar. I've also got an old bottle of masking fluid I've never used but I was wary of splashing it all over only to find it gave me extra work to remove or repaint. Any advice you'd give?

If you use masking tape that's too sticky and pulls paint off, just take a piece of masking tape off and stick it to your jeans a couple of times that makes the tape less adhesive.

Btw great rescue on the Quad! That looks the biz mate! :-*

Cheers Andy. I'm still not happy with the cockpit as it doesn't sit right, but it's a lot better than it was when the front pretty much melted off. There's loads of masking tape packing it out and holding it in place.

I really like how this has turned out Steve.  A nice concept, good component acquisition and an interesting build.
The small details on the engines and the fins really work.  8)
