Here are some phortos of our recent trench Raid game using Through the Mud and the Blood. An Australian platoon against a HMG supported by 2 German section.

Did they take out the HMG post?

Lovely stuff...

It's good to see some green on a WW1 table  :D

All the best.  Aly

We played one of the scenarios from the Stout Hearts supplement. The attackers managed to overwhelm the flank protection and take out the bunker by close assault.

Both times we played it there were heavy casualties until the attackers got out of the bunker's field of fire. It was really interesting to see how the Big Men could remove shock and keep the troops moving even when losses got to 50%.

We really enjoyed using Though the Mud and the Blood.

Great looking table (and game) really good to see trenches cut down into the table.

Very impressed by those boards and explosions! Aly's comment about green on the table is a pertinent reminder that it wasn't all brown.

I slavishly copied Sidney Roundwood's board designs! The green seemed to break the monotony a bit and stopped the khaki clad troops disappearing into the terrain.

The figures are almost exclusively Great War Miniatures (thanks Aly).

Very nice indeed.  By the way, where did you acquire your deck of cards ?  I have the rules set, and have been looking for a deck.

PM sent re the cards.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

I've still got three blank boards to tackle. I was thinking of a destroyed village next. Stayed tuned.

That game looks great, very impressive.

I really like Mud & Blood and the character the cards can lend the game. I've tried Chain of Command with the suggested mods for WW1 and might actually go back to M & B for our periodic WW1/RCW games for the extra flavour.
