Shadowrun rules and minis

Hey folks,  long time lurker, first time poster... you know the drill.

In any event, I'm looking for a suitable set of rules for a miniatures game of Shadowrun.  I'd like something in 28mm that has a 'campaign' feel to it, similar to Necromunda or Legends of the (insert genre here).

For those of you that may not know Shadowrun is an RPG that blends classic high fantasy elements with cyberpunk.  Essentially the year is 2060-something and magic has come back to the land, so you have cyber commandos fighting genetically engineered ninjas with ancient dragons (they've been asleep) and megacorportations pulling the strings.

I've always enjoyed the world and I think it would translate well to a 28mm skirmish game.

Any ideas?

  Two Hour Wargamer 5150. You can d/l the Chain Reaction core rules for free at their website, which is what 5150 is based on. A great set of rules.

One miniature is too many, and a thousand are not enough...

For models, the ERM have some nice Cyberpunky minis in the Corporate Wars range, EM4 in the Future Skirmish range, while Perry have great Ninja in the Samurai Armies section.

Have you considered the Ral Partha Shadowrun figure line? Rather typical "Partha style", but some nice stuff in there! Of course, they might be a bit difficult to procure, but they pop up from time to time, ranging from discount to collector´s price.

Foundry's Street Violence range has some great potential Shadowrun miniatures floating around. Copplestone's Future Wars is also a great source. Don't forget the Go Gangs and the Street Shamans... not everyone can be like those Corporate types.

The addition of green stuff to make elven ears, troll horns or orc tusks is a simple add.

Thanks for the advise on the minis folks.  Is there any other ideas for systems out there?

I looked at Chain Reaction and I just don't feel like it fits.  I'm considering modifying the combat system from the RPG if I can't find anything better.  But that would be a bit of work and require some testing.  :(

You might take a look at the Savage Worlds system. It is an RPG made for using miniatures.

If you like it simple and fast, you could try "Mutants and deathray guns" from ganesha games. It even has a campaign system.

the old warzone cartel agents would look cool they are in suits,if you can find them.I am painting one now I see if I could get some pics.Also check out some of the heroclix.

For systems you can try Fantastic Worlds. It's pulp sci fi with an RPG feel.

The first supplement for it is Planet X and that adds psychic abilities. Those could easily be converted to magic instead.

You might look at Rezolution from Aberrant Games too.  It's a skirmish game with rules for hacking, spells and psionics.  You could probably adapt it to a Shadowrun setting.  They have plenty of cool cyberpunk mini's too.

I'd go with either the THW 5150 but the magic would be a problem, add it from WHAA - download the new Chain Reaction 3 and see (this would work by adding some magic rules) OR you could go with the Ganesha games Mutants and Death Ray Guns and add the magic from Songs of Blades and Heroes - both cheap PDF and excellent games!
