French & Indian raiders torch a cabin as the raid on Deerfield gets under way

I promised pictures, so here they are! I had a full table of 8 players at my very first running of the Raid on Deerfield, 1704. Everyone seemed to have a great time, dashing about the town, banging on doors and trying to save or capture townsfolk. The victory conditions give a bit of leeway to players on how they want to accomplish their goal. Historically, the French merely wanted to create havoc and terror on the frontier. The Indians want captives, and of course, the townsfolk want to save as many of their friends and neighbors as they can.

It was a lot of work getting the game ready for the tabletop, and it certainly paid off. I received lots of compliments on how the battle looked. More importantly, the scenario allowed the players to make their own plans and execute them (or fail to... lol) according to how the skirmish unfolded. As with all my events, I try to give the flavor of the conflict while maximizing the amount of fun for the players. As it turned out, our take on the raid on Deefield was a perfect fit for my Song of Drums and Tomahawks rules.

Thanks to all the players who signed up, and my coauthors Keith and Mike S for contributing buildings and civilian figures!

What a great looking battle.
Excellent terrain.
Looked like the game went very well
and the players had fun.
I need to get my F&W War stuff out for a game.
But being the butterfly I am, I'm off to the new shiny thing.

I grew up less than an hour from Deerfield and never really knew much about it's history other than it was the headquarters for Yankee Candle.  I would love to play this scenario.  Everything looks fantastic.

It's a great scenario, I've been running it using the Engarde  ruleset since last Fall.  I have tons of research if you need any help setting it up.

I played in this game at Huzzah! 2017.  Quite the challenging scenario, touch and go the whole way through.

Also, the game won the award for Best of Session on Saturday afternoon, congrats to the GM!
