Help - can you identify this gun?
« on: 24 January 2017, 04:29:13 PM »
I am starting a 15mm German project (brought long ago and now starting) and in an old fames of war Grenadier pack there is an 'infantry gun' of some kind - definitely not in the manifest list for this pack. It did have all the bits I believe.

I have not cleaned the gun up yet but can anyone with more knowledge of the period tell me what gun this is? I assume it's German but heck, thought I would ask...

I include a picture as an attachment

Thanks in advance

I believe it is a 8.8-cm Raketenwerfer 43 “Puppchen” - an 88mm rocket launcher.

That would be my guess too.

Thanks - that seems to be it. Been reading about this from the web as I had not even heard of this.

Seems as though Battlefront added that to the blister along with 3 AT-rifles. I'll find a few spare figs and make up a crew for it. That gives me options, now that I know what it is. :)

Thanks again for the expert help from both of you.

Yes the Puppchen. By the sound of it you have GE701 Company HQ which includes this, anti tank rifles and a 2.8cm sPzB 41.

This is actually the first edition Grenadier box set... Likely 10+ years old at least now.
