PS can you advise on your choice of paints for oriental flesh. i am interested to see how you do yours.
The same recipe as for Caucasian flesh, but with a
twist and an
addition.
For Caucasian flesh I use a dark base - Foundry Spear Shaft A, or VGC Scorched Brown. Any dark brown or redish brown seems to work.
Then Beasty brown. Then mix in some Dwarf flesh to the BB. Then just DF. Then mix in some Elf Flesh to the DF. Then just EF and add ivory for final highlights. I vary all of this depending at will to make flesh slightly darker.
For Oriental flesh here. The “twist” is I do much less blending/intermixing so the painting looks quite “blocky.” Then with the “addition”
Vallejo MC Tan Glaze. I use this well diluted with water and paint over the flesh areas. As a
glaze – not like a flesh
wash. As this adds a yellowish tint to the flesh areas, it also blends the previous layers together.
Seems to take me a lot less time to actually paint Oriental flesh than it does to explain it.
