Edward Aldrich's Regiment Of Foot
« on: 11 February 2017, 06:03:41 PM »
Renegade figures for these Parlimentarians, large figures with some nice details though they were a bit hit and miss with the faces some of which were nice and defined but others had a lot of metal that needed cleaning off.
I don't collect ECW myself and I don't think I'll start, pikes are a pain in the arse! I must have skewered every blooming finger when handling these lol.

An extremely handsome unit. I agree with Romark about that blue shade.

Sorry to hear about the self-inflicted wounds, but maybe since they have already been baptized in blood they will fight that much more valiantly on the battlefield.

They look fantastic mate. I have a box of these to paint at some point, unless you fancy doing them?  :D

Thank you all for taking the time to comment :) The blue is Foundry Union Blue 111abc used straight from the pots.

Wondering what the painting method is for the look of the blue?

Wondering what the painting method is for the look of the blue?

Prime figure with black spray.
Paint the blue areas with Union Blue 111a
Paint the blue areas except for the deepest recesses and where the blue butts up against another colour 111b
Highlight the 111b areas with 111c
And that's it, hope this helps  :)
