i thought like you that the metal one could be better that the Bone one.
i have done some Bones's great orcs and some details on the little head where too smooth. Then i have to change the head (here on the Reaper Forum)

Chopping off the head out of Bones minis must be a very nice feeling! 

Those orcs came up very nice!
