There was also this guy who recreated fifties street scenes in miniature. Photographed in daylight, with some forced perspective backgrounds, they were almost impossible to discern form the real thing.

Just imagine being able to game on a table filled with terrain like this...

Honestly you and I and most of us members on LAF could hardly fill a table with miniatures (even in 1/35th scale/54mm) painted to a standard to match the quality of those buildings...
