Hmm, looked up TAG and Empress again.

Maybe I go for a mix of TAG US troops and Empress Vietcong.
Thanks to all of you.
Good idea

To be honest, there isn't really anything out there you would call outstanding. The FoA figures, whilst probably the best of the lot are bloody hard to obtain. Ebob's minuscule start of a range a mere chimera, never released and I reckon unlikely to ever be. Baker Company are IMO just plain ugly. Their Australians are perhaps the worst sculpted figures I have seen in many, many years. Beyond dreadful. Westwind don't really appeal. odd sculpts, some bizarre poses.

Eureka's VN range is essentially 25mm and whilst they are some of Mike Broadbent's best sculpts in 25/28mm they have a number of duds and it's a limited range limited to Australians and VC.

The FNG/Empress Vietminh are lovely figures but let's be honest here, wrong war if you want, Yanks and choppers. Yes, some of them are useable but you will find a goodly portion of each pack wearing distinctive quilted jackets for cold northern Vietnam highlands. The range was sculpted specifically for Dien Bien Phu.

So of the lot, TAG are to my mind definitely the best of the lot.

WHO is selling the Force of Arms stuff in the moment, Steve?

Nobody as far as I'm aware mate. It's a shame as they are great figures.

Parkfield have a small range but I don't know what they are like in the flesh.

Flytrap have some nice looking greens waiting in the wings but I don't know when they will be released.

Actually I should have mentioned Parkfield as I have most of them and they're pretty decent.  They fit well enough with FoA.

I am running a 28mm Vietnam War Kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1347433757/special-artizan-services-presents-the-nam-in-28mm

Interesting. Who's the sculptor?

The NVA look good, I might pledge for those but the Yanks look a bit off. Chinstraps buckled up and what look like 30 round mags on their M16s. Were they in flak jackets they'd be perfect for Mayaguez and they would probably work well for Rangers in Grenada

Indeed interesting!

(Since I ordered some TAG and was underwhelmed... 4 Marines are primed and are still waiting to be touched.)
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Indeed. Well done Agis for chosing 28mm for a Vietnam project. Some years ago i choose TAG and still have no regrets at all. And yes they are in the 28mm heroic style but it does not bother me. And when they are on the table amongst the trees and bushes they look pretty nice. ;-)

Thank you for the comments guys.

Anton Ducrot from FlyTrap Factory is my sculptor.  He sculpts all my ranges.

What about the Jungle Rot line?
Any thoughts on that?
