Frostgrave players in Toronto?
« on: 09 March 2017, 09:18:58 PM »
I've recently moved to Toronto and would really like to play some Frostgrave (a game I really enjoy as it reminds me of the excitement I felt during my introduction to the miniature gaming hobby during the 80's)!

I don't know of any other gamers here in Toronto, google seems to suggest there's only a few more tournament focused gaming clubs and a big battle napoleonic clubs in the area, neither of which really appeal to my love of narrative driven skirmish games.

If anyone lives in the area and is already playing Frostgrave, or would like to be introduced to it, then please get in touch and hopefully we can arrange something (I've got some Oldhammer scenery and a warband or two of painted miniatures already set up).

Hopefully this appeal for opponents isn't a breach of the forum etiquette!

Cheers,
Andy

There is a group of us who play various games - everything from board games with miniatures through to DBA. The regular get together is on a wednesday eve at Dueling Grounds. But people play other stuff as well. People host games for others, it all depends on what the mode takes hold etc.

We have done a some multi-player Frostgrave games over the last few months. Generally the comment has been that people enjoy it more with the chaos 3+ players on the same board. I have hosted a few of those and it's fine fun. 4 players on a 4 foot square board with loads of terrain was a fun fight.

By all means join our discussions etc here:  http://torontominiaturesgaminggroup.freeforums.org/ or just send me a PM here.

A couple of us are running games at Hothead in a few weeks as well so if you are going you might bump into us there.

Hi Andy,

I have also recently moved to Toronto from Montreal for work.
All my Frostgrave is still in it's boxes unfortunately - too many other projects going on....

I can also recommend Hotlead in Stafford on the 24-26th March, it will be my 2nd year attending.

Cheers

So I'm in Mississauga these days, but there are people around the GTA who play FG - some of the folks I play Malifaux with out here come in from Etobicoke. Drop me a PM if you're in the west end and I'm sure we can coordinate something.

We really should setup one of those Google maps that let's people see where other members play/are located. I'd love to know who is in my area.

Agreed! A player map of some sort is enormously valuable in getting folks together.

Thanks for the prompt replies and the suggestions everyone. I'll be in touch by PM with those of you in the Toronto area and hopefully arrange something.

Glad to have such a warm gamers welcome, I thought I was in a miniature gaming wilderness!

Cheers,
Andy
