timeframe for ww1 gurkhas
« on: March 14, 2017, 10:04:05 AM »
Hi,

how long after ww1 could gurkhas with bandolier and ww1 tropical gear be used? Especially if I use them as irregular units like Assam military police, Burma military police etc. Maybe early ww2, too?

Thanks

Gurkhas per se? 1920s. Photos show them in '08 webbing in the twenties and thirties. In fact some had switched over to 08 equipment before the end of the Great War. You could probably get away with later for irregular type units. Puttees would be the issue. They were still worn but tended to be rolled and worn with hose tops in the interwar period.
