London Warroom! Disscussion
« on: 03 March 2009, 06:58:49 PM »
:'( I'm not sure how many people here (I'm sure quite a few) have used the exellent London Warroom for their miniature needs. They carry the Hustons line of colonial anf VSF guns. Well they have shut their website down do to some personal problems involving loss of the ability to cast. This will be a great blow to the hobby! Lets hope they reopen better than ever!  :D

I just started this thread to give us a place for those in the know to list info on the subject.

Shame. It was a great source for knick-knacks (bulkhead doors, hatches, guns, etc.) for my gunboats and such.

I believe they are working on getting all the lines off to other companies so that they don't disappear. Brigade is now woring with Parroom. Let's hope other companies are willing to pick up other lines.

Due to who the caster was and the way he left, I'd be surprised if the company returned. Even worse, Sharon has said that (William?) Houston isn't particularly interested in sorting out the rights to his models with anyone. I'm really hoping someone can change his mind.

Gossip? No! never, I hoped people that know more than me (which is everyone!) could use this area to post updates as too what their status is and where the "lines" move too. I guess my wording is a bit off..lol sorry! There is a thread on the TMP page but I do not spend much time there. I and others love their stuff and seeing them at Historicon. They are a valued source for a lot of products.

The Parroom Station minis have been picked up by Brigade, and I think they are going to pick up the Houston line, as well. The Brigade Games Yahoo! Group details this, but they are starting a Brigade Forum, and the info can be found there.
The full story can be found at The Miniatures Page.

I hope my smiley face at the end of my statement made it apparent that I was totally kidding.

I *think* you should use a winking emoticon for that to avoid confusion. ;)

@Topic, that´s sad to hear. I never got around actually ordering from them, but admired their stuff for years. :(

Yes much of the stuff may be picked up its the little stuff that was so great that will fall through the cracks.... :'( and RICHARD Hustons line of guns is one of the planets best. Richard is retired and from what I heard just does not want the bother. I hope someone reliable does get them! :)

The topic is not gossip, if you want to keep using the term please quit posting here.

I hoped people that know more than me (which is everyone!) could use this area to post updates as too what their status is (the bussiness/website) and where the "lines" move too.

Its just a place to keep track of some exellent lines of minis... People that have first hand info that they would like to share, great, speculation NO! This is a place to put rumors to rest.

Sad to see anyone depart the hobby but a lot of their own 25m/28mm  like the SYW range looked really bloody ugly. Wouldn't have touched it witha  10 foot barge pole and I suspect that was the conclsuin reached by a lot of other folk. The paint jobs on the items displayed on their web page did them very little favours either.

Yes some of the range(s) were a bit dated or as you say looked "ugly" but much of it was much better in person. There was a lot of stuff that just was not available other places so you bought it cleaned it up and gave it a nice PJ and it was good.
